OUR STORY

Every Rescue Has a Beginning. So Does Ours.

Ozzy’s Rescue & Sanctuary began with a belief that would become the foundation of everything we do: a dog's life should never be considered disposable.

Dogs arrive in rescue for countless reasons. Some have been abandoned. Some have been surrendered. Some find themselves in overcrowded shelters. Some need medical attention. Some need behavioral support. Some simply need time.

Whatever brought them to that moment, we believe the question shouldn't only be, “Who will take this dog?” It should also be: What does this dog need to have a real chance?

Rescue Is a Responsibility

Removing a dog from immediate danger is important. But what happens afterward is what turns rescue into a meaningful second chance. That can mean safety, medical care, decompression, nutrition, enrichment, behavioral understanding, training, foster support, responsible matching or sanctuary.

Why Sanctuary Matters

Not every dog follows the same timeline. Some may be ready for adoption quickly. Others need weeks or months to recover physically or emotionally. Some may need a permanent sanctuary setting. Time itself should never be the reason a dog is forgotten.

Rescuing the Rescuers™

Ozzy’s exists first and foremost for the dogs. But anyone who has shared a profound relationship with a dog knows that care can move in both directions. We rescue them. And sometimes, through the relationship that follows, they rescue something in us.

Where We're Going

Ozzy’s is being built as a community around rescue, sanctuary, foster care, responsible adoption, volunteer involvement, education, partnership and the positive connection between people and dogs.

Every dog deserves someone who won't give up.
