The mission of Ozzy’s Rescue & Sanctuary is to rescue dogs in need and provide compassionate care, appropriate veterinary support, safe shelter, enrichment, behavioral understanding and the time necessary to move toward responsible adoption or sanctuary. We work to create lasting outcomes rather than temporary solutions.
We envision a community where dogs in need have a pathway from uncertainty to safety, from rescue to recovery, and whenever possible, from rescue to a permanent home. For dogs whose best future is sanctuary, we want them to know stability, dignity and belonging.
Compassion — every dog deserves humane treatment and a meaningful chance. Responsibility — rescue means accepting responsibility for what happens after the save. Dignity — difficult stories can be told without exploiting animals. Patience — healing does not happen according to a marketing calendar. Safety — compassion and responsible safety belong together. Individualized Care — every dog should be understood as an individual. Honesty — communicate truthfully about dogs and the work. Integrity — act consistently with our mission, commitments and the trust placed in us. Loyalty — remain steadfast in our responsibility to the dogs and people who depend on us. Respect — treat every dog, person, partner and community with dignity. Accountability — charitable support deserves responsible stewardship. Education — better information can strengthen relationships between dogs and people. Community — meaningful rescue is built by people working together.
Success is more than the number of dogs rescued or adopted. It is whether dogs were safe, appropriately cared for, understood, given time, responsibly matched and given a better chance because Ozzy’s became part of their story.
